Directed by SHINICHIRO WATANABE (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) has revealed in its questioning panel at Otakon that he directed the anime series SPACE DANDY at studio BONES. Watanabe said that this anime is "anime that should not be taken seriously." This is the first anime series directed comedy.

The producer of this anime series also shows the key visual and character design. Dandy is an alien hunter and "the dandy man in space".This anime-air setting in the distant future where mankind has been exploring the galaxy, Dandy trying to find aliens who have been found alongside fellow robot QT. Watanabe said that Dandy bring this robot because he thinks this robot like R2D2, but in reality is "Roomba, the robot vacuum cleaner." Dandy also traveling with alien cat named Meow, Watanabe also showcased a variety of alien design, which will be introduced each week.
The staff also showed the trailer premiere; unfortunately this trailer still has not been released on the internet.
BONES revealed last year that they were working with Watanabe for the new anime series. Not long after, they also registered a patent for a "Space Dandy." On July 18, Bandai Visual is also registered the domain name "space-dandy.jp," and Bandai America register "space-dandy.us" on July 29.
Anime series Space Dandy scheduled to air in January next year.
